carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, methane, hydrogen sulphide, amonia etc. If these gases are not removed, may cause

serious problems and prove hazardous to the workers entering the sewers. So these gases are disposed of into the

atmosphere by suitable method of ventilation like ventilation columns etc.
