Heart shake / हार्ट शेक: Splits that originate from the heart (pith) and extend outward toward the sapwood
due to internal shrinkage and decay of old age.
Radial shake / रेडियल शेक: Similar to heart shakes, but these cracks originate from the outer
bark/sapwood and move inward toward the pith. They occur when the outer layers dry out too quickly.
Rind gall: A localized swelling or curved defect on the trunk caused by the growth of new sapwood layers
over an old wound where a branch was improperly cut or broken off.
Burl: Large, irregular, or knotty swellings formed on the trunk of a tree, usually caused by a viral infection,
fungal attack, or mechanical injury during growth.
हार्ट शेक: ये दरारें पेड़ के केंद्र (पिथ) से शुरू होकर बाहर की ओर सैपवुड तक जाती हैं। ऐसा पेड़ के अंदर सिकुड़न आने और
उम्र बढ़ने के साथ लकड़ी के सड़ने के कारण होता है।
रेडियल शेक: ये भी हार्ट शेक की तरह ही होते हैं, लेकिन इनमें दरारें बाहरी छाल या सैपवुड से शुरू होकर अंदर केंद्र (पिथ)
की ओर जाती हैं। ऐसा तब होता है जब पेड़ की बाहरी परतें बहुत जल्दी सूख जाती हैं।
रिंड गैल: पेड़ के तने पर एक उभार या टेढ़ी-मेढ़ी गांठ बन जाना। ऐसा तब होता है जब किसी पुरानी चोट (जैसे कि कोई टहनी
गलत तरीके से कट गई हो या टूट गई हो) के ऊपर सैपवुड की नई परतें उग आती हैं।
