Diurnal variation- The diurnal variation or daily variation is the systematic departure of the declination from

its mean value during a period of 24 hours. It generally varies with the phase of the sunspot period. The

difference in declination between morning and afternoon is after as much as 10' of arc.

The extent of daily variation depend upon the following factors-

(i) The locality

(ii) Season of the year

(iii) Time

(iv) The amount of variation change from year to year.

दैनिक परिवर्तन (Diurnal variation) - दैनिक परिवर्तन, 24 घंटे की अवधि के दौरान डिक्लाइनेशन (declination) का उसके

औसत मान से होने वाला व्यवस्थित विचलन है। यह आमतौर पर सनस्पॉट चक्र (sunspot cycle) के चरणों के अनुसार बदलता

रहता है। सुबह और दोपहर के समय डिक्लाइनेशन में अंतर कभी-कभी 10' (आर्क मिनट) तक हो सकता है

दैनिक परिवर्तन की मात्रा निम्नलिखित कारकों पर निर्भर करती है-

(i) स्थान

(ii) वर्ष का मौसम

(iii) समय

(iv) परिवर्तन की मात्रा हर साल बदलती रहती है।
