Jai Singh, the ruler of Alwar, declared Hindi the official language of Alwar in the 1920s. He
banned child marriage and mismatched marriages in 1909. He commissioned the
construction of the Sariska Palace, which is now located within the Sariska Tiger Reserve.\
However, he participated only in the First Round Table Conference (1930) and not in the
Second Round Table Conference (1931).
