Pattern of PSUs

 Examination Pattern

 Examination patterns will be different and vary from one PSU to another.

 Most of the major Psu's takes selection on the introductory of gate scorecard.  

  • Number of Questions 150- 200 Question
  • Time duration 2 – 2 ½ Hrs
  • Negative Marking1/3
  • Technical75 of total questions
  • General aptitude with English 25

 

 Selection Procedure

 The usual selection procedure followed by the maximum no. of PSUs includes the ensuing stages

 Stage- I- Written Examination( Generally on Sunday)

 Stage- II- Interview and GD

 Stage- III- Medical Examination

 Stage- I- Written Examination

 Duration- 1 – 3 hrs( avg 2 hrs)

 

Written test of colorful PSUs can be divided substantially into 4 sections-

Technical

Aptitude & Reasoning

English & RC

General Awareness & current affairs

 

 Stage- II- Interview

 The interview is substantially conducted to bait the retired eventuality of the seeker, therefore it focuses on

  • Maximum stress on testing the specialized knowledge of the seeker.
  • further HR Questions limited to the general preface, work experience( if any), and pursuits.
  • Final time design is veritably important for the interview.

 Group Discussion is also conducted at some PSUs with the interview, which involves

  • Duration is 20-30 twinkles.
  • generally, easy motifs are given for discussion.
  • Contemporary social and political issues are largely probable motifs to be given.
  • motifs on environmental and specialized issues can also be given.

 * Note- Interview and GD in most of the PSU’s can also be taken in Hindi.

 

 Stage- III- Medical Examination

 In some of the PSUs, campaigners named on the base of their performance in written tests, interviews and GD are eventually called for a medical check-up previous to their appointment and training.

 

Points need to be flashed back

Apart from the above pattern of PSUs' examinations, the following things are also considered:

 

  • There can be a fresh stage in some of the PSUs where only short-listed campaigners are allowed to appear for the written test. All the aspirants fulfilling the eligibility criteria are screened again on the base of their of B.Tech primarily and depending upon the no. of vacuities Only named campaigners are called for the written test. e.g.- ISRO, BHEL etc.
  • Some PSUs don’t hold interviews as a part of their selection procedure eg- BSNL( JTO).
  • Though the general pattern of examination has never been declared by any PSU, the trend of weightage given to different stages of selection which is followed by most of the PSUs is: Written – 70-85%, Interview – 15-30%, GD – 5%.
