RRB JE 2026 Selection Stages

The RRB JE recruitment process under CEN 04/2026 has two objective-type Computer Based Tests, followed by Document Verification and Medical Examination. There is no interview.

The examination pattern below is relevant for the notified JE, DMS and applicable CMA posts. For CBT-II, the Technical Abilities syllabus depends on the candidate’s notified post and exam group.

RRB JE Minimum Qualifying Marks

The following are minimum eligibility percentages for CBT stages. They are not the final cut-off marks.

For PwBD candidates, these minimum marks may be relaxed by 2 marks if there is a shortage of suitable PwBD candidates against reserved vacancies. The same category-wise rule applies to Ex-Servicemen candidates according to their community.
 

Important RRB JE Exam Rules

Both CBT-I and CBT-II consist of objective-type multiple-choice questions.

There is a 1/3 negative marking for every wrong answer in both CBTs.

If an examination is held in multiple sessions for the same syllabus, RRB uses normalized marks as per its notified process.

Personal calculators and electronic gadgets are not permitted inside the examination premises.

CBT-II provides a virtual calculator on the computer monitor; candidates should not carry a personal calculator.

The examination date, shift and city are communicated separately by the concerned RRB through its official website, SMS and/or email.

Requests for a change of examination date, shift or venue are not entertained.
