Solution

Given: 
Width (b) = 150 mm; 
Thickness (d) = 120 mm;
Load (P) = 180 kN = 180 × 103 N; 
& Eccentricity (e) = 10 mm.
Now calculating the area of the strut,
A = b × d = 150 × 120 = 18000 mm2
