Solution

Shear stress variation in laminar flow is linear as follows
tmax= 40 Pa

dia of pipe = 12 cm

t = Shear stress at a distance of 2 cm from wall

As show in fig. shear stress at centre of pipe = 0

Shear stress at 6 cm from centre of pipe = 40 Pa

∴  Shear stress at 4 cm from centre of pipe = (40/6)*4                                                                                = 26.67 Pa
