Above critical pressure ratio, addition of regenerator in Brayton cycle
causes one of the following:

In the case
when regenerator is added in Brayton cycle and pressure ratio exceeds above
critical pressure ratio or optimal pressure ratio, there is decrease in net
work of cycle which leads in the drop in overall efficiency of cycle.
Hence, the
