For a given figure determine degree of freedom. When members are inextensible.
For inextensible members:
• Independent joint rotations = 8
• Independent lateral sway displacement at the top storey = 1
•The lower storey cannot sway due to the lateral support.
Degree of Freedom = 8 + 1 = 9
