Solution

The actual velocity (va) at which the water is moving through an aquifer, i.e. on an average, the velocity at which a tracer would move through a permeable medium, is given by   
Where, V = Discharge velocity
n = Porosity
Hence, In ground water flow, the velocity with which a tracer would move is the same as the seepage velocity given by Darcy's law
