The relation between elastic constants E, K, C, and Poisson’s ratio (m) comes from two
standard formulas:
E = 3K (1-2μ) …(i)
E = 2C (1+μ) …(ii)
Derivation:
Since both expressions equal E, equate them:
E = 3K (1-2μ) = 2C (1+μ)
3K - 6Kμ = 2C + 2Cμ
3K - 2C = μ (6K + 2C)
