Observing the flow net we find that and
Nf =3 
Nd = 9
It means no. of equipotential drops = 9
Head at upstream face = 18 m
∴Head drop per equipotential drop =(18/9)= 2m
Pt. A is after 3 equipotential drops
∴ Head drop = 3 × 2 = 6 m
∴ Hydraulic potential at point = 18 – 6 = 12 m
Hence, the correct option is (b).
