Inspite of large heat transfer
coefficients in boiling liquids, fins are used advantageously when the entire
surface is exposed to________ .
nucleate boiling
film boiling
transition boiling
all modes of boiling
film boiling
Nucleate boiling:It is actually the
type of boiling in which the surface temperature is more than the generally
saturated fluid temperature . This happen in the condition when the critical
heat flux remains higher than the heat flux . The surface temperature only
greater by certain amount.
Film boiling: In this type of
boiling the surface temperature remains much higher even the wall are not
be able to contact with the liquid instead covered with the help of
vapour. This is why it also have the low heat transfer capacity.
Transition boiling :It is defined as the unstable boiling, which occurs at surface temperature between maximum temperature nucleate boiling and minimum temperature of film boiling.
Hence, the correct option is (B).
