It is seen that resistance of AC is slightly greater than resistance of DC (RA.C.> RD.C.). It is due to the phenomenon of skin effect. In skin effect the resistance of centre part of the conductor is more than that of circumference.
Thus current at the surface is greater than centre part of the conductor, this phenomenon is called skin effect
