A.

To increase the sound intensity of horn

B.

To protect the horn button

C.

To reduce the voltage in the circuit

D.

To blow the horn intermittently

Answer ( Option B)

To protect the horn button

Solution

  • The horn relay steps up the low current from the horn button to the higher current needed by the horns.
  • Check at the horn relay for 12 volts when the key is turned on.
  • The clock spring allows the wheel to turn in circles while still making an electrical connection to the car's wiring system.
  • You don't want to destroy the switch for the horn if the horn requires more current that what the switch will handle.
  • Thus adding a relay that WILL handle the power isolates and protects the switch.
